Here I’m going to tell you about one of my favourite dinners (could be a lunch). Originally a pampered chef recipe, it’s fast become a family favourite and we are at that point where recipe books are no longer needed and we freestyle this delicious recipe.
1 small onion
140g cheddar cheese
I tablespoon of Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
Parsley for flavour
Pepper for tasting
The beauty of this meal is its so easy. First preheat the over to 190 degrees Celsius. Chop the ham, broccoli, and onion in a chopper (of with a knife but very finely) the mix in a bowl. Add the grated cheese, mustard, mayonnaise, parsley and pepper and mix together. Next on a large flat surface that will go into the oven (we use a baking stone) roll out your pasty into a large rectangle and put the mixture down the centre of the pastry.
With a knife, slice the pastry into strips going down the length. (See photo) next, on pick up the pastry strips on either side of the mixture and twist them into the centre to cover the mixture and to create a pattern. It should look like a long pastry wrap! Lightly brush with milk the put in the over for 25-30minutes until the pastry is golden….enjoy!
